About Us and Submission Guidelines

Welcome to Good Indie Books.

This is a blog and associated Facebook page for independently published books. Sorry, but books published by the traditional press, whether as ebooks or hard-copy, do not qualify.

To have your book listed, email a request to goodindiebooks@gmail.com with the following attached as separate files:

♦ Your front cover picture (min 600px wide), and if available a full jacket picture (min 1300px wide). Pictures will appear on the page and blog.

♦ Your pitch (maximum 250 words). Pitches will appear on the page and blog.

♦ A full copy of your manuscript for review (PDF preferred - no Word documents. ePub and Mobi also accepted). Manuscripts will never be posted by us anywhere nor forwarded by us to a third party, not by your request nor by our discretion. Never.

♦ Links to the outlets at which your book is available for purchase (amazon, smashwords, etc), as well as any associated websites or Facebook pages. These will appear on the page and blog.

The subject line should appear in the following format:

genre of your book: the title of your book: your name (last, first).

Submissions not received in the proper format will not be considered.  

We will never disseminate your work. These files are for the sole purpose of proper evaluation and publication on the blog and page.

If the manuscript qualifies as A Good Indie Book, it will be listed on the blog and the Facebook page, complete with cover, pitch, links, and a concise review. If the manuscript is not yet ready, we will try to proffer useful advice on how it can be improved. Manuscripts that are clearly not of a professional standard will not warrant a full read or review. All submissions will be responded to via email in due time.

Feel free to invite friends and family to the blog and Facebook page, and to share our posts here or from the page in any way you choose. Defamation of others' work will not be taken lightly and may result in a complete ban from the page. Comments are welcome so long as they are informed and constructive.
